Ultimately, a student must return to his or her home school. Gateway's program cannot offer all that is necessary to graduate. It is also the ultimate test of what a student has learned. Coping skills, resisting temptations, functioning in a more impersonal setting, making decisions based on information rather than emotion, and being assertive are skills that we work to develop in our students. Follow-up contact is available as needed to make the successful transition back to the home school as likely as possible.
