Entrance into Gateway

Entrance into Gateway is by referral only. This referral may originate with the home school or the parent. The superintendent's office also refers students through the system's Hearing Officer. Regardless, each student's home school should complete a referral form, provide complete records, and complete a functional behavior assessment prior to intake/enrollment.

Intake

Each student who is referred to Gateway as well as his or her parent go through an intake process that establishes clear individual goals for the student and sets the standard for attendance, behavior, and academic expectations. These goals and the information provided by the home school provide the basis for the Gateway staff being able to quickly begin to work effectively with the student.
